How to repair a concrete driveway crack
- 1). Clean the crack with hot water and a stiff wire brush, taking care to remove all broken concrete fragments, dust and loose material.
- 2). Dampen the damaged area, inside and along the full length of the crack with a spray bottle of water.
- 3). Fill the crack with concrete sealer or pourable grout. Fill the crack completely and leave the sealer or grout very slightly proud of the top of the crack. Most sealers and pourable grouts come with their own dispensers. Check manufacturer's instructions carefully before use.
- 4). Smooth the excess grout or sealer over the top of the crack with a pointing trowel so that it is flush with the surrounding concrete.
- 5). Wait for the concrete sealer or grout to dry completely before using the driveway. In most cases, the sealer or grout will dry within 12 to 24 hours.
