How to Tighten Down Inground Pool Ladders & Handles
- 1). Lift up the ring or flange that covers the hole in the concrete where the ladder attaches to the ground. Depending upon the type of flange, you may need to unscrew this or it may lift up easily.
- 2). Remove any excessive debris that you find near the rail and the flange with a broom.
- 3). Tighten the bolt or screw by twisting it to the right and replace the ring. Repeat for the other side of the ladder handle.
- 4). Check the connection between the ring and the part of the ladder that goes into the pool, if applicable. Tighten the bolt or screw and replace the ring.
- 5). Check each step of the ladder for hold. If the step is wiggly, tighten with the bolt or screw on both sides of the ladder. Test the ladder for hold before allowing anyone to get back on the ladder.
