    Force-Quit an iPhone App

    • 1). Press and hold the "Sleep-Wake" button on the upper right hand edge of the iPhone for several seconds, until a red slide bar appears on the screen.

    • 2). Press and hold the "Home" button located on the lower center portion of the iPhone until the application closes.

    • 3). Restart the iPhone app by selecting the appropriate icon. Determine if the force-quit procedure has "unfrozen" the application.

    Restarting the iPhone

    • 1). Press and hold the "Sleep-Wake" button until a red slide bar appears on the screen.

    • 2). Tap and drag the red slide bar to turn off the iPhone.

    • 3). Press and hold the "Sleep-Wake" button until the iPhone turns on and the Apple logo appears.

    Resetting the iPhone

    • 1). Verify you have attempted to force-quit and restart the iPhone prior to resetting.

    • 2). Press and hold the "Sleep-Wake" button and "Home" button simultaneously for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    • 3). Check to verify the application or feature has unfrozen and the iPhone is working properly.
