Excitotoxins - Are They Causing Your Pain?

I've gotten some interesting emails in the past few days.
Some have told me they are going to take my end pain challenge and see how they feel.
Also there have been some who tell me they already eat the right kind of diet but still suffer from aches and pains.
Others have told me that while they appreciate my two step approach with diet and exercise for pain management, they do not have their chronic pains under control and exercise just seems to make them flare up more.
I can understand this, cause as many of you know I too suffered from aches and pains.
I still exercised but it just seemed so hard to keep doing so when there was so much pain involved.
First I want to address those who say they eat the right diet already but still suffer from aches and pains.
What I cover in my end pain challenge report is a major factor, but there are other dietary components that are common yet overlooked because of their acceptance into everyday life.
Today I will cover one of these factors for you and I want you to see if it is part of your diet.
If it is I want you to eliminate it and find a substitute for it.
Like many of the things I talk about making the change I am going to ask you to make will have other benefits even if it is not the cause of the ailment I am addressing here.
So try making the change even if its not the contributor to your aches and pains.
Your body will thank you.
Getting back on track, many of you are telling me you are eating the proper diet and still suffer from aches and pains.
Diet not only includes food, but ingredients in your food.
There are certain chemicals called excitotoxins that you are probably unknowingly consuming in your everyday diet.
One excitotoxin I will cover today that I want you to look for is aspartame.
Aspartame is an artificial sugar substitute.
It is used to sweeten all kinds of products.
From diet soda to all kinds of food items that are marketed as "sugar free" In fact, if the food label says "sugar free" read it immediately.
If it contains any artificial sweetener, particularly aspartame, get rid of it immediately and find something else.
There are many brands of this sweetener people use in their coffee, to cook with, etc.
However you can read the label and typically easily identify the sugar substitute in question as aspartame.
Excitoxins are a class of substances that are specifically designed to interact with specialized receptors in the brain.
They greatly increase your sensory experience.
In the case of aspartame it is designed to cater to your sweet tooth.
However there are all kinds of far reaching side effects to aspertame and all excitotoxins that go above and beyond possibly causing chronis aches and pains.
Excitotoxins not only stimulate neurotrasmitters in the brain and nervous system, they damage them! Excitotoxins have been linked to the greatly increased cases of Multiple Sclerosis happening all over the world as well as other disorders such as Fibromyalgia.
What are just some of the symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis? Muscle Weakness, loss of muscle tone causing stiffness, pain, restricting joint and limb movement, and jerking and twitching of muscles.
Sounds just like some of the symptoms you guys have been writing me about.
Now imagine suffering from these symptoms and trying to find the will to exercise, even if its simple exercise like going for a walk! I would certainly feel discouraged about trying to exercise on top of that and add to the pain I am already experiencing.
So what do most people do? Keep unknowingly consuming the things that are hurting them and turn to drugs and pain killers for their relief.
Diet and exercise are important, but diet involves a many layers that not only include the right foods but the right ingredients.
Many of you are adding chemicals and toxins to our food unknowingly and wonder why we are not feeling better even though you are "eating right" Some of you are still consuming foods marketed to us as safe but contain harmful ingredients.
This is why I say you should avoid pretty much any boxed, pre packaged foods.
As part of my end pain challenge, start looking for this excitotoxin in EVERYTHING you consume.
If you find it, eliminate it immediately and find a natural substitute.
Just a word of warning, some people may have their symptoms temporarily get worse for a short period of time as your body detoxes from no longer ingesting this chemical.
This is normal and will pass.
There are natural substitutes to sugar without the damaging side effects of their artificial counterparts.
Start using them instead.
Your body will thank you.
Wishing you health and longevity,
