There is cooking and then there is gourmet cooking.

Television: The boob tube to the widescreen LED gourmet Cable television now offers such programming as found on the Food Network, Bravo, and The Travel Channel that provide a look into the fascinating world of gourmet cooking.
Wolfgang Puck, Emeril, Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay, and Guy Fieri are not only considered excellent chefs in their own right, but they have become celebrities equal to any movie star today thanks to widespread exposure on television.
Not all of the "professional" chefs today have been to culinary school but they each have possessed that passion to cook since they were children pestering their mom in the kitchen.
