The noun trustee (stress on the second syllable) refers to a person or organization appointed to manage the property or affairs of another person or organization.

The adjective trusty (stress on the first syllable) means reliable or trustworthy.

Examples:

  • The trustee has the power to refer violations of the law to the prosecutor's office.
  • My trusty dog would never let an intruder enter without sounding a warning.
