How to Program the Keyless Entry for a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix
- 1). Open the Grand Prix's trunk.
- 2). Search on the right-hand side for a single black and white wire. You may have to remove the right panel inside the trunk to find it. This is the "programming connector wire."
- 3). Ground the end of the wire to a nearby bolt or to the trunk latch. Leave it grounded like this throughout the procedure.
- 4). Listen for the doors to lock and unlock, as confirmation that the grounding has successfully entered you into programming mode.
- 5). Press any button on your keyless remote. Listen for the doors to lock and unlock again, as confirmation that programming was successful.
- 6). Repeat step 5 for every remote that you want to work with your Gran Prix, before removing the programming connector wire from ground.
