    • 1). Select the "Developer" tab in the Ribbon. If this tab is not visible, click on the Office button (the orb in the upper left corner of the menu) and select "PowerPoint Options" from the menu. Check "Show Developer Tab" in the option list.

    • 2). Click the "More controls.." button on the Controls segment of the Ribbon. The More Controls dialog is displayed with a list of available ActiveX controls. Scroll down until you find the Shockwave Flash Object and select it. Click "OK" and the cursor will change to a cross-hair.

    • 3). Use the cross-hair cursor to draw out a rectangle of the size that you want to use to display the Flash animation. You can adjust this size later to improve the quality of the output in your presentation.

    • 4). Right-click on the ActiveX control that you just drew, and select "Properties" from the context menu. Type the location of the SWF file in the "Movie" property. If the animation is to play as the slide appears, set the Playing property to "True." If you do not set this property, you will have to click on the animation during the presentation to play it.
