How to Manually Put Songs on an iPod Without Syncing
- 1). Connect your iPod to your computer using the supplied cable. Insert the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your computer and the dock connector end of the cable into the dock connector port on the bottom of your iPod.
- 2). Open iTunes on your computer. When iTunes recognizes that your iPod is connected an iPod icon will appear in the "Device" list, which is located on the left-hand side of the iTunes interface.
- 3). Click on the iPod icon in the "Devices" list. Doing this will bring up a summary of your iPod, including which version of iTunes you're running, how much storage you've used on your iPod and how much storage you have remaining.
- 4). Click the "Summary" tab, which is the first tab on the left-hand side of the tabs in the main iTunes window.
- 5). Click "Manually Manage Music and Videos," which is located below "Options" in the main iTunes window.
- 6). Click on "Music" below "Library" in the control panel on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.
- 7). Click on the song you want to add to your iPod so that it's highlighted.
- 8). Drag the highlighted song to the iPod icon in the "Device" section of iTunes, which is located below "Library" and "Store" in the left control panel. Release the mouse button when your iPod icon becomes highlighted--this will add the song to your iPod.
