Luau Themed Wedding Party

After your rehearsal, gather friends and family for a fun, laid-back luau party and barbecue.
A luau-themed party can take place at any time during the year, so you can easily bring the party inside if the weather doesn't cooperate with you.
Since luau-themed parties are fairly popular, you can easily find many decorations and party favors at party retail stores, and the Internet is an oasis of fun items to include in your party that fit within any budget.
Though wedding planning can become stressful at times, use the luau party after a rehearsal dinner to turn your space into a stress-free zone.
Keep the party causal by sending out fun invitations, such as an invitation in a small plastic bottle, or purchase Hawaiian postcards and use them as invitations - treat your party like a fabulous getaway! Decorate the dining tables with little crates filled with sand, accented with sand dollars, starfish and tea lights for a fun, but romantic ambiance.
At the door, hand each guest a faux lei to set the mood, and play Hawaiian island music to create the perfect ambiance for the party.
Incorporate tiki lights throughout the yard to transform the space into an island getaway.
Set out Hawaiian dishes for guests to enjoy, such as a tropical fruit bar, blended drinks - complete with tiny umbrellas, grilled honey ham, Hawaiian chicken, miniature Hawaiian pizzas, or a variety of kabobs to please everyone at the party.
Offer guests a variety of tropical fruits, such as pineapple, kiwi and banana as little appetizers, and accompany a meal with green salads or Hawaiian bread.
If there are children present, be sure to include kid-friendly options and juices for them to enjoy.
At the buffet, secure grass table skirting around each table to create an authentic look, no matter where the rehearsal dinner is held.
Get your guests laughing and having a great time by providing a hula dance lesson, entice guests to partake in hula-hoop contests or play a Hawaiian-themed basket toss.
Finish off the wedding party with a coconut-flavored cake, or opt for a chocolate dessert with macadamia or hazelnuts.
There are plenty of ideas to use instead of a cake, too - such as coconut cream pie, beach-themed cupcakes or even an ice cream bar for those warm summer nights.
Between the delicious food, stress-free ambiance and fun luau decor, you and your guests will be transported to the islands of Hawaii for a few amazing hours!
