Emlxconvert

• 1). Download, install and run emlxconvert (see Resources section). This program comes in versions compatible with either the Mac OS X or Windows operating systems. The tool allows you to save .emlx files in .mbox format, allowing you to then import the .mbox files to your email client.
  
  
• 2). Drag the .emlx files you wish to convert into the program's main window.
  
  
• 3). Click "Save mbox" and select the output file location and name.
  
  

Aid4Mail

• 1). Download, install and run Aid4Mail (see Resources section), and click "Next" to begin the free trial. This program can read and export many common email formats.
  
  
• 2). Select the "EML message files" import type then click "Next."
  
  
• 3). Select the source location of the .emlx files you wish to convert. Then click "Next."
  
  
• 4). Choose the export format type you wish to convert to. The program does have a "Generic mailboxes" option, but if you know which program you need to import to, find that option and click "Next."
  
  
• 5). Filter and name your export file on the next four screens. After you have completed choosing options for each screen, click "Next." Then click "Start" to complete the conversion.
