How to Restore Microsoft XPS Document Writer
- 1). Click “Start,” select “Control Panel,” and click the “View Devices and Printers” link under Hardware and Sound.
- 2). Click the “Add a Printer” button on the toolbar, and click the “Add a Local Printer” option in the window that appears.
- 3). Click the drop-down box to the right of "Use an Existing Port," select “FILE: (Print to File)” in the list, and click “Next.”
- 4). Scroll down in the Manufacturer box, and select “Microsoft.”
- 5). Select the “Microsoft XPS Document Writer” printer, and click “Next.”
- 6). Click “Next” three times to use the XPS Document Writer driver, install the virtual printer and disable network sharing for the printer.
- 7). Disable the “Set as the Default Printer” check box by clicking it, if desired, and click “Finish.” The Microsoft XPS Document Writer virtual printer appears in your list of installed printers.
