How to Attach a Grille Guard to a Jeep Liberty

    • 1). Open the hood and locate the plastic rivets that secure the grille in position.

    • 2). Remove the plastic rivets using pliers. Save the plastic rivets for re-installation of the factory grille.

    • 3). Remove the grille from the Jeep and set it in a safe place.

    • 4). Cut the felt strip that came with the kit in half using scissors. Remove the backing and apply it to each side of the grille guard. This will protect the bumper from damage while in use.

    • 5). Place the grille guard onto the front bumper. Center the grille guard and mark the four mounting holes on the bumper using a pencil. Remove the grille guard from the bumper.

    • 6). Drill four 1/4-inch holes through the bumper at the marked locations with a power drill.

    • 7). Place the grille guard back into position. Install the mounting hardware and tighten the bolts using a ratchet and socket.

    • 8). Reinstall the grille onto the Jeep and fasten it to the framework using the plastic rivets that were previously removed in step 2.
