iTunes Requirement

• The iPod Nano 3rd generation requires iTunes 7.4 or later in order to accept and process music, videos and other content. Older versions of iTunes will not transfer content properly to a 3rd generation iPod Nano. In addition to having version 7.4 or later installed on your computer, your computer also needs a USB 2.0 port. If using Windows, you need Windows Vista, XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 installed. If you are using a Mac, you need OS X version 10.4.8 or later.
  
  

iTunes Interface

• iTunes 7.4 (and later versions) contains a redesigned interface and the ability to access the online iTunes Store. The online iTunes Store contains music, podcasts and videos as well as audiobooks. The program connects automatically to the online store and any file transfers are done completely within the iTunes interface. You do not need an Internet browser open.
  
  

Availability

• iTunes 7.4 and newer versions of the program are available by clicking the "iTunes" link and clicking the "Download iTunes" button in the upper right-corner of your browser's screen.
  
  

Uninstalling

• If you currently have an older version of iTunes on your computer, uninstall it to reduce a chance of the program conflicting with a newer version. If using Windows, click "Start," "Control Panel" and "Uninstall a program." Scroll down the list under the heading "Name" and double click the "iTunes" entry. Click "Yes" to begin the uninstallation process. If using a Mac, click your Mac's hard drive icon then "Applications." Click and drag the iTunes folder to your Mac's "Trash Can" on the "Desktop."
