Help With Golf Swing - Ways to Improve Your Lob Shot
Welcome to Help With Golf Swing articles where I would like to teach you just a little bit about the infamous lob shot.
The lob shot is nothing short if amazing, if you can get it to work.
Let us get started...
So, I am standing about 15 feet from the green and trying to decide the best way to get the ball to the hole with minimum spin.
I say to myself, "better lob it.
" So I line up to the ball, get my weight centered, rear back, and lob it! Or so I thought.
Turns out, I hit a line drive across the green, almost taking out my golf buddy, and having to take a penalty stroke.
I need help with my gold swing.
So, what did I do wrong? Well, I am sure we have all had a similar experience when attempting the lob shot, and ended up wondering the same thing.
Lets break the over-all process down and see if we cannot get this shot perfected.
1.
) Determine whether your shot requires a high-trajectory approach to the green.
If so, how high of a trajectory? 2.
) Select the golf club with the most loft, usually a lob wedge or a 60-degree wedge.
3.
) Stand a few yards away from the ball and take a few practice swings.
(Remember to visualize the shot.
) 4.
) Open up the face of the club, so that it lies on the ground flat.
5.
) Angle the club 5 yards to the right of your target.
7.
) Bring the club back along the line of your feet, taking a full golf swing.
8.
) Step up to the ball and hit a good lob shot.
Now, with these tips in mind, go to the golf range and practice them.
I would say, within an hour, you'll have your lob shot down.
Remember, you won't always need help with your golf sing, you just need to commit to practicing on a normal basis to get your body in the proper stride.
