How to Remove a Stain From a Stainless Steel Sink

Apply Comet Cleanser.
Use Comet Cleanser, water and soft scrub sponge. I use this method often since it's the easiest to do and it doesn't require mixing any chemicals. Plus, Comet Cleanser is safe to use on stainless steel. I've used Comet Cleanser for over 25 years and it has ALWAYS removed stains from my stainless steel sinks. Even the toughest stains don't stand a chance against Comet Cleanser.
Simply wet the sponge, apply Comet Cleanser to the stain and carefully massage the stain with the soft scrub sponge until the stain disappears. Rinse thoroughly with water and you're done. You might want to wear rubber gloves so the cleanser doesn't get on your hands. - 2
Apply baking soda and liquid dish soap.
Use baking soda and liquid dish soap to form a paste and apply it on the stain. Use the same scrubbing technique as listed above and rinse the sink thoroughly. - 3
Apply vinegar.
Rub vinegar on the stain with a soft scrub sponge. I have not personally tried this, but my friends tell me it's a great alternative to using cleansers. - 4
Apply ammonia and water.
Mix ammonia and water in equal parts and apply it to the stain with a soft scrub sponge. Again, use the same scrubbing technique as described in step 1. - 5
Apply Borax and lemon juice.
Mix borax and lemon juice to form a paste and apply it to the stain with a soft scrub sponge. Use the same scrubbing technique as described in step 1.
