A friend of mine called me last month and wanted to know what were the best accessories for his truck.
He had just bought a new pickup truck and wanted to get my take.
I told him, if I were to pick the top three accessories, this is what they would be.
First I would get truck floor protection.
Bringing road debris into my new truck would be something to avoid as soon as possible.
The amount of damage that is caused to the carpet with a constant grinding from a boot bottom is something to avoid immediately.
There are a multitude of floor protecttion choices.
The thermoplastic trays,super size rubber mats, the combination rubber mat fused to carpet, any of those are good choices to maximize floor protection and contain the floor mess.
Next I would invest in some custom truck seat covers.
For me I would go with a canvas, something that when soiled could be thrown in the washer and then put back on the seats.
Now there are all sorts of seat cover fabrics available.
From saddle blanket, camo, tweed, microsuede, velour, and leatherette, there is a seat cover for everyone.
No doubt he could find something he liked while maximizing seat protection.
The third accessory would be truck mud guards.
Some people call them splash guards or mud flaps but he understood what they were.
I told him he needed to prevent the stones from picking away at his fancy paint job.
There are several brands of custom mud guards available.
The custom version would be best, since it covered a greater area.
There were several other accessories, but I decided to hold back on them for another time.
