How to Redeem Shares to Pay Bills
- 1). Look at a recent statement for your investment account. This will tell you how many shares you hold in the account.
- 2). Find the contact details on the statement. Contact the investment company by calling the phone number listed.
- 3). Request to withdraw money from the account by redeeming shares. Verify your identity with the account representative to prove that you are the account holder and to initiate the shares redemption. If there are any fees for redemption, the account representative will give you those details.
- 4). Give the account representative a checking account number so that once the shares have been redeemed the money can be electronically deposited into your checking account.
- 5). Wait two business days for the money to appear in your checking account. Once the money is in the account, use it to pay any bills that you have.
