How to Visit the Holy Land

Decide in advance the places you wish to visit. It is unlikely that you will be able to see the whole country in a single visit, so choose the areas that have the most significance and relevance to the purpose of your trip. For historical explorations, consider Jericho and the Dead Sea area. For religious explorations, consider a trip to Jerusalem.

Skip the months of July and August. Although the area surrounding the Dead Sea can easily reach 104 degrees by May, Spring and autumn are still the best times to visit. The air is clear and persistent rain ensures that the dust has settled. If you want to enjoy the spas in the north of the country, visit in April or October when temperatures are in the low 30s.

Prepare a Visa. Almost everybody, except those living in certain Middle Eastern countries, will require a Visa to enter the Holy Land. A Visa can be obtained at the airport by presenting a valid passport and return airfare ticket.

Don’t miss The Western Wall, Tsidkiyahoo Cave, The Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Western Wall Tunnels. These four places are the main Holy sites of the area and represent the history and tradition of the two major religions that share the land: Christianism and Judaism.
