How to Select Columns in Windows Explorer
- 1). Open Windows Explorer and click the "View" drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
- 2). Select "Show Details." The Choose Details window will open and display a list of columns. These columns include "Name," "Type" and "Date Modified." A check box appears next to each column.
- 3). Remove check marks from columns that you do not want to appear in Windows Explorer.
- 4). Place a check mark next to columns that you want to appear in Windows Explorer.
- 5). Click a column to select it. Windows Explorer will highlight the column.
- 6). Click the "Move Up" and "Move Down" buttons to move it up or down in the list. Doing this allows you to set the order that they appear in Windows Explorer.
- 7). Type a number in the "Width of selected column (in pixels)" text box if you want to set the size of the selected column. For instance, to make the column 100 pixels wide, type 100 in the text box.
- 8). Click "OK" to close the "Choose Details" window. Windows Explorer will display the columns that you selected.
