Remember The Card When Sending Flowers

Admit it, we all love getting flowers. And, truth be told, we like to give flowers too. And with all the special occasions like birthdays, Valentine's Day and anniversaries, as well as the holiday gift giving seasons, there are lots of opportunities to send flowers, baskets and bouquets to all the people in our lives. However, when you're sending out all of these awesomely beautiful bunches of flowers, people want to know who sent them. Forgetting to put anything an the card, or not sending one at all, will make it impossible for anyone to know why they where sent or even who sent them. And what's the point of sending flowers if you don't get the kudos for being so thoughtful and kind?

When sending flowers was a matter of going to a florist in Edmonton, Dallas, Tampa, New York or anywhere else for that matter and figuring out what you wanted, since a florist was involved, they'd always ask "And what would you like on the note card?" That is our cue to remember to put something on the card. Having someone there to remind us to put something on the card was a big benefit of using the florists, no matter what kind of flowers we send.

You even had to talk to the florist when you placed your order by phone. Not only are they just as helpful on the phone as they are in person, but they'll ask the same questions. "What would you like on the note card?" is just as ubiquitous a question from the telephone order taker as it is from the person behind the counter. Either way, we always got the opportunity to make sure we got some kind of sentiment on the card as well as being able to say who it's from.

The note card is often omitted when we send flowers online. You are more likely to send a card when you place an order online if you are using full size screen, like on your laptop, but using a smartphone or PDA when ordering flowers could make sending a card easily missed. In today's click-through world, having a mostly blank screen with a "Continue" button on it is something we're used to, so clicking that button can be automatic. And that could mean that the card could end up being sent with nothing on it.

So take that extra few minutes when you're using florists online to send flowers to make sure you've put something in every blank on your online order. Even though you will get a prompting for that box, it's not like getting a vocal prompt from a live order-taker. Taking that extra couple of moments to make sure you've filled out the note card can prevent a ton of issues later.
