How to Use a Dish Network DVR Remote
- 1). Using the channel guide, find a program to record and press the remote control's "Record" button.
- 2). Set times to establish a recurring recording. Click on the show name listed in the channel guide and press the "Select" button. Then press "DVR." Two options will appear, one to record new episodes and another for recording all episodes (this will include reruns).
- 3). If you can't find the date or time a show is going to air, use the built-in search function. To use this feature, hit the "Program Search" button from the screen's Program Guide. Scroll up or down to find the show.
- 4). Use the Remote Access feature to manage the DVR when you leave home. If you have forgotten to set the DVR to record a program or needed to log delete old recordings to make space for new ones, access the DVR from any computer with internet access. Go to Dish Network's Remote Access homepage and use your login information to gain access to the DVR. This does require having a VIP series service with the DVR connected to a DSL or broadband connection.
- 5). By clicking on the remote control's "DVR" button, you can have access to the entire listing of shows in your system. Highlight the program you want to watch and press "Play." To move past commercials, press the "Skip Forward" button.
- 6). Use the remote's "Pause" button if you have something interrupting you. This feature allows you to not miss any programs you are watching. The screen will freeze until you press "Play" on the remote to resume watching.
