How to Draw Mushrooms
- 1). Draw an oval/oblong shape in the middle of the paper and then draw a line through the middle of the shape. This is the cap of the mushroom. Draw over the shape to add more curved, realistic edges. Be sure to use your pencil lightly until you are confident with the drawing you have created.
- 2). Define the shape of the mushroom cap and, from the center of the cap, draw two lines that open out to the bottom. Trace over the shape of the stem to create more curves and a thicker shape.
- 3). Split the cap into two and draw a curved line inside the mushroom head. This line represents the top of the mushroom and the rest of the oval is the shadow underneath. Sketch many small ribbed lines underneath the cap. Draw two odd oval shapes on top of the head of the mushroom to represent mushroom spots.
- 4). Create a background for your mushroom. Draw grass around the bottom of the mushroom. Make sure the grass is not too high. Add flowers and butterflies to the picture to create an atmosphere.
- 5). Outline all of the set shapes of your mushroom and erase all the drawing lines. Now you should have the complete shape of your mushroom. Color in your mushroom using vibrant colors. Try using purples, greens, pinks and yellows. Ensure each color for each part of the mushroom is different so it creates a vibrant contrast.
