Removing the Emergency Key from the Mazda "Credit Card" Key

• 1). Hold the Mazda credit card key in the palm of your hand. Inspect the top edge of it to find the corner cut-out section. You'll be able to see the connection lines.
  
  
• 2). Grasp the corner cut-out section firmly with your other hand. Pull outward to remove the emergency key.
  
  
• 3). Push the emergency key back into the slot to replace it. Be sure that the design lines on the key are facing in the same direction as the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the key.
  
  

Removing the Emergency Key from the Mazda Advanced Key

• 1). Turn the Mazda advanced key over. Inspect the back to find the small lever.
  
  
• 2). Push the lever down and hold it into place. Grasp the "keyring" end of the advanced key. This part is silver.
  
  
• 3). Pull outward on the keyring end to remove the emergency key.
  
  
• 4). Re-insert the emergency key straight into the opening when you are finished. It's not necessary to replace the button. It will lock into place.
