How to Hang an LG TV
- 1). Detect the studs of the wall on which you wish to hang the television by sweeping a stud finder across the wall. Depending on your stud finder, it will beep or flash a light to indicate the presence of a stud. Mark the stud location with several pencil marks.
- 2). Place a level on the wall over the stud and move the level until it is perfectly horizontal. Draw a pencil line along the level.
- 3). Hold the piece of the mounting bracket that attaches to the wall against the wall, positioning it over the line you marked with the level. On most mounting systems, you can detach the wall bracket for ease of installation. When you have the bracket positioned over the stud, mark the locations of the bracket's holes on the wall with the pencil. Depending on the height you want, you can place the bracket's holes directly on the line you drew or place a straight edge of the bracket along the line, then mark the holes.
- 4). Remove the bracket from the wall and drill pilot holes in the wall at the locations you marked. The drill bit you select for the pilot holes should be slightly smaller than the mounting screws for the bracket.
- 5). Position the bracket on the wall, directly over the holes you just drilled. Use the rachet and socket to drive the mounting screws through the bracket and into the wall to hold the bracket securely in place.
- 6). Attach the other half of the mounting system to the back of the LG television with the mounting screws. Though every mounting system is slightly different, you typically attach the TV mounting bracket to the rear of the television with screws and a screwdriver.
- 7). Lift the television onto the wall with the help of one or two assistants and guide the bracket attached to the TV into the bracket mounted on the wall. Wall-mount systems vary significantly; sometimes, the two pieces of the mounting system will clip together, while other systems employ a pin to hold the two pieces together.
