How to Remove the Connector on a Dryer Timer
- 1). Check the dryer power cord to ensure that it is not connected to the electrical outlet. Unplug the cord if you have not done so already.
- 2). Place a small piece of masking tape around each of the wires you are removing from the timer. Mark the wire location on the tape with a pencil. This helps when the time comes to reinstall the wires.
- 3). Grab the neck of the wire connector securely with a pair of needle-nose pliers. The neck is the portion of the connector where the wire runs through before forming a spade. The spade is the part of the connector that slides over the timer terminals.
- 4). Pull the connector straight off the terminal with the pliers. When reconnecting the wires, slide the connector over the terminal, holding the connector neck with the pliers.
