How to Empty MP3 Player Memory
- 1). Connect the MP3 player to the computer using a suitable USB cable. Most MP3 players require a mini-USB connector at the device end of the cable, and a standard, full-sized USB connector for the computer's port.
- 2). Open "My Computer" and locate the icon for the MP3 player. It will be displayed as a mass storage device and will be designated as the next available drive letter. For example, "(F:) Removable Disk" or "(F:) MP3 Player."
- 3). Right-click the MP3 player's icon and select "Format" from the drop-down list.
- 4). Choose "FAT32" from the "File System" menu. All other settings can be left as their default option, and a name for the device can be entered into "Volume Label" if desired.
- 5). Click the "Start" button and the MP3 player's memory will be completely erased.
