How to Add Curb Appeal to Our Spanish Home
- 1). Clean any trash from your yard. Also, get rid of any broken or unattractive pieces of furniture, such as old swings and bird baths. Yards look more spacious and inviting when they are uncluttered.
- 2). Remove any dead vegetation from your front yard. In addition, remove or trim down any plants that block the view of your home. If your house isn't visible from the street, you might prevent potential buyers from looking at your home.
- 3). Install vegetation in your yard that is native to Spain, if your climate allows. Orchids, lavender, rosemary and pine are all native to Spain and typically look nice when incorporated into the landscape. Palms and other leafy plants also go well with Spanish-style homes. Place mulch around the vegetation to create a neat bed once you have installed the vegetation.
- 4). Give your home a fresh coat of paint. Spanish-style homes usually look nice when painted tan or a similar color. But you can use the door and trim as an opportunity to incorporate bursts of color into the home's exterior. For instance, turquoise and adobe blend well with earth tones and provide just enough brightness to light up the home's façade.
- 5). Hang Spanish-themed decorations on the porch. For instance, suns and other similar decorative pieces can help to spruce up an otherwise boring porch.
