    • 1). Buy some device with which to store and transfer your music. A CD will work for a small amount of music. If you want to move a couple of gigabytes of music, you can use a flash drive. If you are moving a great deal of music, you may want to invest in a portable hard drive.

    • 2). Attach your music storage device to your PC. Open whatever storage device you are using. Most of the time, a pop-up window will appear asking you if you want to open the device, but if this does not occur, you can access the storage device by clicking the start tab at the bottom of your screen, then clicking the computer tab that appears in the start menu.

    • 3). Open iTunes and copy the music you want to transfer. You can transfer single songs or albums by right clicking the song or album and proceeding to left click the copy button. If you want to copy all of your music or a single playlist, you can do that by opening your music or playlist in iTunes and selecting all (by holding control and hitting A) and then copying these files in the same manner as you would copy a single song.

    • 4). Paste the files into your music storage device. Find the window that came up when you initially opened your device, then right click inside the window and hit the "New" tab, then choose "Folder" from the menu that appears. Open this new folder and paste your music in the folder by right clicking and then choosing paste.

    • 5). Remove your storage device from your PC and take it to your laptop. Make sure all of your music has been copied before removing your storage device. Then attach the device to the laptop the same way you attached it to your PC.

    • 6). Open iTunes on your laptop. Click the file tab and then choose "Add Folder to Library" from the drop-down menu. Click the computer tab in the pop-up window that appears, then find your music storage device in the drop down menu. Open the storage device, pick the folder containing your music and then click the OK button. This will transfer the music from your storage device to your laptop.
