Lose Weight Quickly - You Get Out of It What You Put Into It

I could go ad nauseum with guidance of workouts and nutrition but if you really want to lose weight quickly the first issue you have to address is one of motivation. We all get moments of inspiration but it is a steady long-term motivation that we need because consistency is king when it comes to being fit. You can sabotage a nutritious diet with the occasional binge of bad food. Skipping workouts every couple of weeks is enough to stall your progress. What these slip ups amount up to is frustration for you. Time passes and you see no results because of inconsistency which ultimately happens due to a lack of motivation. So let's keep the motivation burning through daily reinforcement of why you are doing all this in the first place.

Being motivated can come from two opposing forces; positive and negative. It is usually negative forces that motivate us in the beginning. We see ourselves in the mirror. We feel sluggish and tired all the time. We see a photo of ourselves that does not look flattering at all. It's good that these things get you started on a path to a healthy lifestyle but they cannot sustain you indefinitely. You also need positive reinforcement. This must come from results you get from your fitness plan, so let's look at how we can use positive reinforcement as well.

Put Up Photos
Do you have a recent photo of yourself you just can't stand? Good. Print if off and put it up on your night stand. This is your first reminder of what you want to change. Do you have an old photo of yourself when you were in great shape? It doesn't matter if it was years ago. You can get back thereā€¦it just takes time. Print out this photo as well and keep them beside one another to remind you every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to bed what you want to change.

Take Measurements
Often times, early in your training, your weight may not change drastically as you put on muscle and take off fat. What will change dramatically are your measurements. So measure your chest, arms, waist, hips, and thighs. Weigh yourself on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, so a full stomach doesn't skew the results. Write these down and pin them up somewhere you will see them every day. Now measure yourself once a month and keep a track of the changes. The more changes you see the more you will want to do to keep the changes coming!

Keep Taking Photos
Again once a month take a photo in a bathing suit. Take it in the same place each time so you can see the change from a consistent perspective. Keep these photos by your first two photos and keep up your motivation by watching yourself transform.

Weigh Yourself
Don't weigh yourself daily or even weekly. Weigh yourself once a month. Do it in the morning before breakfast again so it doesn't skew the results. You don't want to do this every day as it can play games with your head. Some weeks you'll lose more weight than others as the body reacts in its own time. Don't frustrate yourself. Keep your head down, workout hard, eat a nutritious diet and the changes will come.

Motivation will come from being brutally honest with yourself and these techniques force you to face yourself each and every day. Weeks, months, and years won't slip by where you deny your weight-gain as the matter gets worse and worse. You will face it each day and be inspired by your own changes. You can do amazing things. You just have to believe you can.

Getting down to brass tacks, in order to lose weight quickly you want a comprehensive workout plan; one involving strength, cardiovascular, and flexibility training. You also need to eat a healthy diet. Do both of these consistently and you will be looking and feeling better soon. Those improvements will stoke the flames of your desire and keep you dedicated to your fitness plan. You'll be looking great sooner than you think.
