How to Run Microsoft Windows 98 & Windows ME
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button on the bottom-left side of the taskbar. Click "Programs" to view a list of all of the software installed on your computer. Click a program icon to start an application.
- 2). Click the "Start" button and then "Run." Type the name of the program in the "Open" text box and click "OK" to launch the application.
- 3). Click the "Start" button and then "Search." Type the name of the program into the "Containing Text" text box. Select the "C:" drive in the "Look In" drop-down menu. Click "Search Now" to search your computer. Double-click the program icon in the search results window to launch the application.

- 2). Click "Add/Remove Programs" to install or uninstall software.
- 3). Click "Internet Options" to change settings for Internet Explorer, including history, security and privacy settings.
- 4). Click "Display" to adjust video settings, including resolution, color depth and screen saver options.
- 5). Click "Sounds and Multimedia" to change volume and speaker settings and to configure Windows sound options.
- 6). Click "Printers" to install and uninstall printers, to set the default printer and to troubleshoot printer errors.
- 7). Click "Add New Hardware" to install new hardware devices, peripherals and drivers.
- 1). Click the "Start" button, "Settings" and then "Control Panel."
- 2). Double-click "Passwords." Click "Change Windows Password" and then "OK."
- 3). Type the old password into the "Old Password" text box. Enter the new password in both the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" text boxes. Click "OK" to save the password settings.
