Miss USA Even needs time to play To see the sights and sounds And the wonders of the world What else should be expected Of a little girl from Kentucky Who arrives in New York City Looking all so pretty Yet isn't all that gritty And certainly not ready For life in the fast lane Adolscent instincts untamed Suddenly all know her name As she ascends to fortune and fame Arising victorious from the pageant game Yet her personal problems Nearly lost her the ability to reign As Miss USA, a pageant she has stained Nevertheless there is nothing new Under the sun After all girls, they want to have fun To this even "The Donald" is not dumb Moreover such publicity He will certainly not shun As now is his big chance To show mercy to a young lady Blossoming and coming into her own Discovering her identity Learning how to say no To those who would of her Make merchandise and a show Why than the media frenzy The unkind words The belittling remarks As she walks through the dark Of her very own soul Seeking to rehabilitate And be made whole So she had a few drinks underage Do we not send young men to war Who are far younger than her Many of whom return in body bags Tara Conner is no hag She's sorting through Some personal matters Resolving some unfinished business Stuff which most of us Steal struggle with And many have not figured out Why than should she be made to pout To feel inadequate Undoubtedly however She acted inappropriate But have not we all? Everyone takes a fall Afterward though is when stamina is tested To see if we'll endure or be divested Of our personhood and purpose Our integrity and decency divorce Or stand strong Remembering who we are Tara Conner stand strong You will go far Turn this mess into a message This stumblingblock Into a stepping stone Your platform now hone Take your personal experience As a message To the youth of our nation That substance abuse Leads to degradation Character disintegration Purposeful annihilation Tara, take this second chance Hold your head up high And courageously dance Your way through the wilderness Into your own womanhood with tenderness To be all you can be Arise triumphantly Exerting your tiara's influence As you do this shall be your brilliance.
