How to Remove Black Dye Stains

    • 1). Wipe away as much of the black dye as you can with a clean white cloth. Start at the outer edges of the stain and work towards the center. Removing excess dye from the surface of the stain will prevent spreading of the dye when you are cleaning.

    • 2). Combine one tablespoon of dish washing detergent, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of cold water. Always use cold water when cleaning stains, warm or hot water could actually set the black dye and make the stain worse. Blot the mixture onto the stain, wait five minutes and blot again. Continue blotting with a clean cloth dipped in this mixture for 30 minutes.

    • 3). Blot the area with a clean cloth and some cold water. Continue blotting until all moisture is gone. If the stain remains, move on to the next step.

    • 4). Apply some rubbing alcohol to a cotton ball and dab the black stain until it fades. Repeat with clean cotton balls until the stain has been completely removed. Blot the area with a clean cloth and cold water to remove all excess moisture. If you can still see the stain move on the the next step.

    • 5). Combine one teaspoon of dish detergent, one tablespoon of ammonia, and two cups of cold water. Blot the mixture onto the stain, wait five minutes and blot again. Continue blotting with a clean cloth dipped in this mixture for 30 minutes.

    • 6). Blot the area with a clean cloth and some cold water. Continue blotting until all moisture is gone.
