How to Send Plants by Post
- 1). Water the plant that is being sent by post the day before thoroughly to ensure the roots and the foliage will not dry out during transit.
- 2). Dig up the plant from your garden or take it out of the nursery container carefully. Shake any access soil off of the roots.
- 3). Wrap roots in damp newspaper making sure the paper is not dripping wet. Place newspaper-wrapped roots in a plastic grocery bag tying lightly. Leave the foliage unwrapped.
- 4). Place the wrapped plant in a shipping box just big enough for the plant. Stuff any extra space with tissue paper to prevent movement during shipment.
- 5). Seal the box securely with tape and address the box to the recipient. Post overnight to ensure a fast delivery.
