For people who manage to survive today's fast-paced economic growth, welcoming mornings with zero sleep guarantees a not so great day ahead.
One must have sufficient energy, through sleep to manage everyday activities - that's impossible to do when you're groggy and heavy-eyed.
While we all know that sleeping is important and that we must not pass up on sleep, some people think that sleeping is a bothersome affliction that they have to do battle against.
Almost everyone are inflicted with insomnia, being unable to sleep and unable to stay asleep, at some point in their lives.
There have been recent estimates indicating that approximately 25 million Americans suffer from chronic insomnia.
The National Sleep Foundation states that 50% of all adults worldwide have problem sleeping - an alarming ratio, considering available medication and therapy to treat this kind of sleeping disorder.
Most people would say that their insomnia resulted from heavy pressure that accompanies their jobs, which result in high levels of stress.
Another cause is anxiety.
Events in one's life leading to emotional devastation, such as loss and bereavement, may get a person off track in all areas, including his sleeping habits.

When a person fails to sleep, he feels very tired or fatigued, his energy levels are reduced and his reflexes slow down.
The sensitivity of the senses becomes blunted.
The mind becomes sluggish and loses focus.
Some people quickly loses attention, have dizzy spells and mood swings during the daytime due to sleepless nights.
Some people become very irritable and become angry quite easily for no reason at all.
Insomnia may sometimes lead to emotional problems and depression.
In chronic cases, when severe insomnia goes on for months or even years, some people even have hallucinations.

Your physician may also check social stressors and order a blood panel to check for vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
While such medical examinations may take a chunk of time and finances, wouldn't it be worth your while so you would not have to endure another sleepless night?
