Top hotel predicts a successful summer around the corner
A leading Newmarket hotel is predicting a most successful summer season in spite of the turbulent national economy.
The four star Bedford Lodge Hotel in Bury Road is not only one of the most popular venues for weddings Suffolk has to offer, it has launched a selection of creatively designed packages to entice more visitors to Newmarket this summer. According to Chief Executive Noel Byrne, they are already attracting widespread interest.
He said: "We are tapping into an increasing trend in which more and more people are deciding to go on short breaks in the UK rather than travel abroad for a fortnight - particularly to the Euro zone which is expensive due to the weak pound. More people are choosing to have weddings in Suffolk which is also good for the economy,
"Newmarket has a huge amount to offer visitors, with some superb attractions. Our packages are especially designed to appeal to a wide range of guests including families with young children, who might not normally visit the area. A combination of hotels, restaurants and venues for a wedding, Suffolk and Newmarket is at the top of its league to attractions."
Bedford Lodge Hotel's ‘Stay and Play' package allows visitors to choose from a range of activities organised by the hotel. These include wine tasting at Chilford Hall Vineyards and bicycle tours of Cambridge, plus horse riding, falconry and country pursuits at Wild Tracks Activity Park. Visitors can also enjoy trips to the National Horseracing Museum, the National Stud, the Animal Health Trust and not forgetting the Hoofbeats Tours.
Bedford Lodge Hotel has also teamed up for the first time with Newmarket Nights to offer a special booking service and accommodation options. Stars performing at this year's season from June 17 include Jools Holland, Texas, James Blunt, Scissor Sisters, The Wanted, Boyzone and the legendary Tom Jones.
There are also special summer racing packages on offer in association with Newmarket Racecourse to tie in with Saturday Racing in July, which can include a picnic.
Mr Byrne added: "Our packages are competitively priced and flexible. The more people who visit Newmarket this summer the better for the local economy and job opportunities. We are very excited at the interest the packages have already generated and are looking forward to a bumper season."
The 55-bed hotel in Bury Road has bar, restaurant, banqueting, conference and health club facilities and is set in three acres of rose gardens.
For many people wanting to host Suffolk weddings, Bedford Lodge is seen as the ideal place to get married, providing special care and attention on the big day. Having a wedding in Suffolk promises to provide an idyllic setting, with a 17th century building and rose gardens amongst other things.
