How to Draw a Fender

    • 1). Sketch out the peanut-shaped body of the guitar, with the bottom of this instrument being slightly larger than the top. Use a ruler to help you draw the basic guideline for the neck of the Fender guitar. Add a rounded, triangular shape at the top of the neck to act as the premise for the tuning fret.

    • 2). Shape the top of the guitar's body so that each side of the neck has an ear-like shape. Draw circular objects on the end of each of these ear-like shapes to represent the connecting parts for the guitar strap.

    • 3). Use the ruler to help you draw each of the six strings on the Fender guitar. While the diameter of each string is actually different than the others, this is not a necessary detail because these strings are so small. Space each of the strings evenly apart.

    • 4). Draw circular knobs on the bottom portion of the guitar's body. Notice the angle at which your drawing appears and add short lines to these knobs to create a three-dimensional look. Connect these short lines to a secondary circular shape to complete the realistic knob appearance. If the guitar has any other equipment, such as a whammy bar, draw these into the body at this time.

    • 5). Sketch out the basic shape to the backplate that connects to the bridge of the Fender guitar you are drawing. Draw small circles inside the backplate to symbolize the tiny screws that hold this plate to the body of the guitar.

    • 6). Shape the top of the guitar's neck in a similar fashion to the picture you are using as a reference guide. Slowly sketch the "Fender" lettering that appears on the side of the this particular section. Draw three oval-like shapes connected to each side of this area to represent the six string tuners.

    • 7). Trace all of the intended pencil lines of the guitar carefully with an ink pen, making sure you do not line over any of the guidelines you used to create this image. Let the ink dry thoroughly, then erase any remaining pencil marks on the page.
