How to Upgrade to Windows R2
- 1). Make sure that your computer meets the Windows R2 system requirements, which include 512 MB RAM, a single processor with 1.4 GHz, 32 GB hard drive space and super VGA (800 by 600).
- 2). Go to the desktop of your PC. Place the Windows Server 2008 R2 installation disc into the CD-ROM drive. Wait for the autorun wizard to appear. Click "Run."
- 3). Click "Continue Windows Server 2008 R2 Setup." Select the upgrade option. Ensure that you do not select the clean installation option because this will delete all the data on your hard drive.
- 4). Enter the product key information. You should find the product key on the installation disc sleeve or the CD. Click "Next."
- 5). Read through the End-User License Agreement, and select the "I Accept the Terms of the License Agreement" option. Click "Next." Allow the setup to install Windows R2 and copy the files.
- 6). Click "Finish" to complete the installation. Restart your computer.
