This is a question that people have been probably asking since the beginning of time.
Way back when Adam bit that apple and was kick out of paradise, I am sure that he said why is this happening to me? When Sol went through his bad luck journey as he lost his wealth, his health, and the precious material things in life, he had to break down sometimes and just wonder why me? When you or your love one discover that you have cancer or some incurable disease that is making your life pure hell while you waste away, I can understand why you would say, why me? When you lose your job, lose your home, lose your love one, or sometimes feel like you are losing your mind, you got to say why me? Why, oh Lord, why is this happening to me? I say unto you, that before you ask why, you first need to know what.
You see, before I can tell you why bad things happen, you first need to know what causes bad things to happen.
People love to talk about good things, I been to many churches where all they ever seem to talk about is God.
Yet to be able to fully understand the definition of something, you need to know the opposite of it to fully understand it.
Like I say one word and you shout out the opposite.
Hot, you say cold, good, you say bad, large, you say small, heaven, you say hell, God, and then you say Satan.
For you see if I just talk about God, I will never be able to tell you why bad things happen to God's people.
You and I know that God is good, so if you have bad things happening around you, the first thing you should realize is that it has nothing to do with God, but just the opposite.
Now, do you understand what I am getting at? Don't get the two confused, where there is good on one end there is evil on the other.
Just like there is a God who is all good, you must realize that there is a Satan who is all bad.
In other words, don't be trying to put Satan's blame on my dear Lord.
I have heard so many people looking bewildered just after a disaster has happened.
A flood wipes out their neighborhood, a tornado tears down their church, cancer invade their body, or a child of there is born mentally or physically deformed.
These bewildered people look at themselves and ask why did God do that? Listen closely, God did not do that, Satan did that.
God can make it rain in order for your crops to grow, but Satan will take that rain and flood all your crops away.
Why did God do this, don't be ridiculous, where there is good on one side, there always lie evil on the other side.
Where there is a Heaven above, there is, God's children, a Hell below.
Just like a magnet one side positive, the other side negative.
Whatever God creates, Satan is always looking for a way to destroy it.
I don't want to scare you, I am not trying to frighten you, but Satan is something that most of us are afraid to talk about.
Some of you think if you don't talk about something or try to ignore that it exist, it might go away.
Like a woman when she finds a lump on her breast and try to tell herself, oh it's nothing.
You see Satan is like an incurable cancer, you can ignore him if you want to, but he won't go away.
That is why you better always keep your guard up.
Like a good trained boxer, you need to always have that left up, because you never know when Satan is going to throw a blow.
A lot of good fighters have been TKO by a blow that they never saw coming.
Satan keeps both of his fists up and ready just waiting for the right time to throw that hay-maker at you.
He is always there patiently waiting for you to make that one mistake, so he can say..
Bamm, I got ya! All throughout life you are going to get your bumps and bruises, believe me no matter how good you fight, old Satan always is going to get a few good licks in there on you.
I don't know of any good fighter who never got hit during a real fight.
As any boxing coach will tell you, there is nothing wrong with getting hit, just don't get knocked out.
You are going to get hit, you might even get knocked down a few times, but God want you to get yourself up and get back in there and keep on fighting.
For if you believe in God, you know that you are ready to walk through the valley of death and fear no evil.
If you know God, then you must know that evil can't harm what is precious to you and that is your soul.
For Satan can hurt your body with blows and win a few rounds, but he can't win the fight unless you give up and give him the title to your soul.
Satan can hit you with cancer to eat away at your body, he can cause floods to wash away your crops, he can trick your love ones to turn on you and try to destroy you, and he can use those who worship him to steal and break into your home and harm your love ones.
However, no matter what Satan does to you, he can't win unless you give up.
As long as you stay in the ring fighting him even if he got you backed up against the ropes.
Just remember who got your back; just remember who is in your corner, for as long as you have God and you believe in him as much as he believes in you, Satan knows he can't win.
Now believe me, Satan is going to give it his best try, but as long as you keep jumping back up, no matter how many times he knock you down, believe me you'll always be saved by the bell.
Don't give up, don't let Satan win, he can only win if you stop fighting.
As long as you stand up to him, no matter how many painful hits, no matter how many times he knock you to the canvas, as long as you are determine to get back up, he can't win.
Praise the Lord, and say Hallelujah, when times in your life get the hardest, that is when you prove your faith to God.
Life isn't easy and just like any good general in war, it is his best troops that he sends into battle.
God only sends in his best soldiers to fight in Satan's war.
When you have cancer, no job, no home, no one, and Satan is staring down his barrel at you, this is the time to show your faith in the Lord.
For ask not what God can do for you, but ask what you can do for him.
Lord, you can count on me, I won't let you down.
Be proud to be a soldier in God's army, scream out with love for God and don't hesitate to volunteer for his army.
Satan can only win, if you allow him to win.
For I will walk though the valley of death and fear no evil.
My body is only a worthless shield that protects the precious soul that God has given to me.
Thank you God, thank you Lord, I will not let you down.
Satan can throw his best shot at me; I will take it with a smile on my face.
Satan can cause my body to rot away with cancer and disease, destroy my house, damage my children, have my love ones turn against me, but he will never win, for he will never get my soul.
Why do bad things happen to God's people, why you? Because Satan is not going after someone who is bad, he already got them.
He going after the good, hoping that by causing them pain, by causing them losses, causing them deprivation, that they might give up hope, that they might lose their faith and turn away from God, long enough for him to get into them and destroy their soul.
Don't do it, you hear me, don't do it! Fight the devil, don't let the devil win.
Fight Satan; fight him with everything you got.
Hit him with your left fist, if he takes that one, hit him with your right.
If he takes that one don't walk away, but kick him with your left leg.
If he takes your left leg, jump up and kick him with your right.
If he takes that leg then spit at him and then roll your body to try to knock him down, but whatever you do, don't ever give up.
God loves you and to prove to him that you love him, you got to keep on fighting.
Look Satan straight in the eye and say bring it on.
Bring it on Satan; because I am ready, I am ready to rumble.
