    CPCV

    • CPCV stands for Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride. CPCV is a newer form of PVC pipe intended to replace standard metal pipes in structures that are susceptible to corrosion. CPCV is also more flexible and pliable than standard PVC.

    Schedule 40

    • Schedule 40 is the least expensive and most common form of PVC pipes. Schedule 40 is the largest PVC by dimension. Schedule 40 is generally used in drains and cold water supply lines. Because of a limited heat resistance rating, schedule 40 PVC pipes cannot be used for hot water supply lines.

    Schedule 80

    • Schedule 80 is an inexpensive style of PVC pipes commonly found in residential dwellings. Schedule 80 is grey in color and has a higher heat resistance rating, so it is used in both hot and cold water supply lines.

    Schedule 120

    • Schedule 120 is a bit more expensive than the other forms of PVC pipes, because it has larger dimensions and thicker interior walls. Schedule 120 is commercial PVC pipe and sold at commercial plumbing supply warehouses.
