How to Remove W32 Sohanad
- 1). Restart the computer and hit the F8 key repeatedly as it restarts. This loads only the most basic elements of the operating system, bypassing many of the W32 files that could be infected.
- 2). Click the Run dialogue (located at the Start menu). Type in the letters "MRT" (no quotes) when an input box opens and hit the ENTER key.This opens the Malware Removal Tool, which comes installed on PCs running Windows systems released since Windows 98. If you encounter problems, download the most recent version from Microsoft Security (see Resources) and open as indicated above.
- 3). Click once on the "Next" button.
- 4). Click once on "Full Scan". This offers the greatest chance of detecting the W32 Sohanad worm.
- 5). Click once on the "Next" button to begin the Full Scan.
- 6). Follow the instructions to remove the W32 Sohanad worm.
- 7). Click on "View detailed results of the scan" when the repair completes, to ensure that the W32 Sohanad worm was successfully removed.
- 8). Click the "Finish" button when the repair completes.
- 9). Restart your computer.
