Mommy Body Blues
When it comes to body aches and pains it is always one thing or the other! Rumor has it that the sex of the baby pre-determines the extent of pregnancy symptoms, but I believe that it is just mere coincidence. My first three months of pregnancy were just awful and that is just how I felt. I had morning sickness morning, noon, and night and I working 8 hr. shifts on my feet constantly did not help either. You would think that carrying and extra load would increase my appetite, but I was the complete opposite. I believe I lost over 10 lbs. those couple of months from not being able to eat end the dreadful nausea.
The next three months were not as near as bad as the first. My appetite picked up and the sickness went away. Everyone said I was glowing. And I told them that I was pretty sure it was because I was now able to hold my food down. I picked up a couple of lbs. but not much.
My last three months are when the problems started again. I got a pinched nerve in my buttocks, talk about excruciating pain, you would not have wanted to be anywhere within a two foot radius of me when it hit hard. My doctor gave me a script for Tylenol threes and that surprisingly knocked the pain right out. Then there came the awful Charlie horses I started to get in the middle of the night. My doctor said it was bad circulation so I was instructed to lay on my right side instead of my left (or it could have been vice versa).
My last month I believe the baby was already six plus lbs. and I had been warned to expect her to grow a half lb. a week until delivery. Well I had a baby girl May 21st eight lbs. and five ounces.
