Conference venues are a bit different from most other types of venues.
While all venues have specific things that are unique just to that type of venue, there are multiple things required for conference venues to be viewed as being good in their kind.
In fact, there are multiple types of venues within the larger category of conference venue as well meaning that not all venues that are for conferences will be able to cater to the needs of a specific conference event.
When you are looking for the ideal conference venue for your own event, here are some things to keep in mind.
Conference Format: What is the format of the conference that you are hosting? Is it going to be a single talk that is happening in a single room? Is it going to be multiple talks happening in a single lecture theatre? Is it going to be a retreat over a multiple day period that will require the use of accommodations and multiple rooms for the different events? These are questions that you need to answer right away because the answers to these questions will determine whether you can make do with a single room in a building or whether you are going to need to book multiple rooms and even multiple buildings for your particular conference.
Conference Type: What are the types of events that are going to be happening at your conference? If the conference is just going to be a single talk in the format of a meeting that is occurring between a dozen people or so, then the conference venue you need can be found in a library, a town hall or even just a simple room in one of the nearby office buildings.
However, if the talks are going to be lectures with slide shows and then a question and answer period afterwards, you are going to need conference venues with support for microphones, PowerPoint and anything else that the particular lecturers might need.
Conference Budget: What is the budget of your conference? If the budget is not able to pay for all of the room that you need for the conference, then you need to consider scaling back the conference so that you can afford the necessary conference venues.
Conference venue prices rarely change in the cheaper direction and this means that you need to plan out your conference venues at the same time as you plan out the conference so that you don't end up budgeting more money than you actually have to spend.
