Miniature Christmas Tree

• 1). Place a traditional round tomato cage upside down in a six-gallon metal can.
  
  
• 2). Wrap wire around the open ends of the tomato cage at the top to hold them together and make the cage into a Christmas-tree shape.
  
  
• 3). Bend a piece of wire or a coat hanger into a star shape and attach it to the top of the tomato cage tree with another piece of wire.
  
  
• 4). Paint the metal can, tomato cage and star with white spray paint. This will help the tree stand out more in a dark yard.
  
  
• 5). String Christmas lights around the metal Christmas tree, weaving them in and out of the tomato cage to keep them in place. Finish by wrapping them around the star on top to highlight its outline.
  
  
• 6). Hang weather-resistant Christmas tree ornaments from the tomato cage for a finishing touch.
  
  
• 7). Fill the metal can with pebbles once the tree is in place to keep it from falling over.
  
  

Snowman

• 1). Cut a large snowman shape out of a piece of plywood with a jigsaw. Most snowmen are made of three stacked round sections, with each one slightly smaller than the one below.
  
  
• 2). Cut a top hat shape out of the plywood. The brim of the hat should be about as wide as the snowman's head.
  
  
• 3). Paint the snowman white and the hat black.
  
  
• 4). Affix the top hat to the snowman's head with screws.
  
  
• 5). Paint a face onto the snowman or cut out a hole where the face belongs so children can stand behind it and poke their faces through to pose.
  
  
• 6). Outline the edge of the snowman shape with white Christmas lights. Hold them on with a piece of masking tape every few inches. For a more permanent decoration, you can glue the string of lights to the snowman.
  
  
• 7). Wrap a scarf around the snowman's neck if the bulbs burn cool enough to not cause the scarf to be a fire hazard.
