Salvia: The After Effects
Psychedelic experiences can normally include closed and open eye visualizations, time distortion, social dissociation, altered thought patterns, altered behavior, dreamlike/childlike states, increased in sensations, changes in body temperature, senses of fear or panic, increased perspiration, introspection, feelings of presences outside the norm as well as feeling like one has traveled 'somewhere' or 'somewhen' else. Salvia unlike many psychedelic tends to have a much shorter duration with 'long' trips tending to last a little under an hour, although some after effects may be felt up to an additional hour later.
After the peak effects, normal awareness-of-self and the immediate surroundings return but lingering effects may be felt. These short-term lingering effects have a completely different character than the peak experience. About half of users report a pleasing 'afterglow', or pleasant state of mind following the main effects and these are the following:
Increased insight
Improved mood
Increased connection with the Universe or Nature
Increased sweating
Body felt warm or hot
Increased self-confidence
Increased concentration
Some other commonly reported effects would be the feeling of calmness, having weird thoughts, the things the see seems to be so unreal, feeling as if they were floating, minds racing and feeling lightheaded.
The effects of Salvia are largely dependant on the dosage, individual and often the environment. So make sure you do not take too much of it unless there is someone with you or you are already aware of its possible effects, otherwise, take a few for those who are just about to try the first time.
