How to Clean a Kohler Hot Tub System
- 1). Rinse your Kohler hot tub system with clean water from a plastic pitcher after each use to avoid soap scum buildup.
- 2). Clean your tub weekly with a non-abrasive cleanser. Fill the tub one-quarter full with warm water, and add liquid concentrated cleaning solution according to package directions. Wearing rubber gloves, swish a soft sponge in the tub to mix the water with the cleaning solution. Use the soapy water in the tub to clean the top, sides and bottom of the tub in a circular motion with medium pressure. Empty the soapy water from the tub, and rinse thoroughly with water poured from a plastic pitcher. Use a dry towel to wipe the top and sides of the tub.
- 3). Once a month, flush your Kohler hot tub system to avoid bacterial buildup. Turn all of the jets clockwise as far as they will go. Fill the tub with warm water so that the highest jet is completely covered in water. Add 2 tsp. powdered dishwasher detergent and 20 oz. of bleach to the water.
- 4). Run the whirlpool system for 10 minutes. Put on rubber gloves to open the drain on the tub, and let the tub drain completely.
- 5). Rinse the tub with warm water from a plastic pitcher, and wipe off the top and sides with a dry towel.
