How to Design a Blogger Blog Layout
- 1). Log in to your Blogger account using a username and password provided through Google. If you do not have a Google username and password, you will need to obtain them by clicking "Sign In" in the upper-right corner on the Google home page and following the instructions. It takes no more than five minutes.
- 2). Click "Create a Blog" in your Blogger account. If you already have a blog, open the blog for which you want to design the layout.
- 3). Click the "Design" link in the upper-right corner of your page. This will open a new page displaying the elements of your Blogger page layout.
- 4). Click "Template Designer" under the link directly below the "Design" tab.
- 5). Scroll through the sliding window of template options and choose a template for your blog. Since this is just a preview, you can change the template as often as you would like in this step, without worrying about the changes saving.
- 6). Click the "Background" tab on the left side of the page to select the main color theme or add an image, or both.
- 7). Click the "Adjust Widths" tab to change the width of the entire blog, as well as the right or left sidebar (depending on template).
- 8). Click the "Layout" tab to determine the layout of both the body and the footer of your blog.
- 9). Click the "Advanced" tab for other options -- such as changing the font, background color and text color.

Click the "Apply to Blog" button in the upper-right corner to save the changes in your preview to the actual blog. These changes will take effect immediately, and the new layout will be how visitors will now see your blog. On the other hand, if you want to restart the entire process or discard the changes, simply click the "Back to Blogger" link, also found in the upper-right corner.
