How to Make a Cropped PNG on GIMP
- 1). Launch GIMP and open your ".png" file by clicking File and Open. GIMP's default is to automatically detect all file extensions, so find your image within your documents and click "Open." The semi-transparent image will appear in its own workbook with a gray checkerboard showing in the place of transparent areas.
- 2). Select the Crop Tool, which is in the main toolbox of GIMP.
- 3). Double-click on the upper-left corner of the place where you want your cropped image to begin, and drag your cursor to the lower-right corner of where you want your final picture to end. Click once within the selected rectangle to activate the crop.
- 4). Save your cropped image by clicking on File and Save As. Check that the file name ends in ".png" and click "Save."
