    • 1). Click the "Start" button, and then click "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Switch to Classic View" on the left side of the Control Panel window, and then double-click the "Power Options" icon.

    • 3). Click the "Power Schemes" tab.

    • 4). Click the drop-down menu under "Power Schemes," and select "Always On." This setting disables SpeedStep and causes the CPU to run at its maximum speed unless a thermal issue causes it to exceed its maximum operating temperature.

    • 5). Click "OK."
