• When turning 3, a girl typically begins to draw pictures that resemble the object she is trying to depict. She loves hands-on activities. Thus, art supplies--paints, crayons, stamp pads and stamps, different types of papers, an easel or any combination of these items--are a great gift.
  
  

Dress Up Clothing

• Three-year-old girls are becoming more aware of the roles people play in society. They generally are interested in princesses, fairies and make-believe and usually love costumes. Dress-up clothes could be based upon a theme, such as Disney's Princess Collection, or the costume could be reflective of a particular career, such as a doctor or veterinarian.
  
  

Child Computers

• Another great option for a 3-year-old girl is a computer. Several child computers are on the market. A great one is the Click Start My First Computer by LeapFrog. This computer plugs into a television set and features cartridges with educational games that are age-based and can continue to grow with the child. Also, cartridges contain characters that girls love--the Disney Princesses or popular television and movie characters.
